Conor O'Donnell - Breeze-up Consignor
Conor O'Donnell is the heart behind Irish Horse Sales, operating from his yard in Kilbrennal, Ballynonty, Co. Tipperary. His passion and expertise is deeply rooted in the world of thoroughbred horses across all disciplines.
​Specialising in the production of breeze-up horses consigning as Cloughtaney Stables, for over a decade Conor is blazing his own trail through the Breeze-up world. Conor rides and prepares each horse himself, running a small but fiercely dedicated operation built entirely from the ground up. He has carved his own path in the industry - driven by a relentless work ethic, deep belief and determination to succeed on his own terms.

Conor's Story
A pony mad kid from Moyglass, Co. Tipperary, horses were in Conor's blood, there was probably never a time he didn't ride. He pony raced and hunted all of his childhood, progressing to point to point and on the track. He has worked for some top class trainers in Tipperary including The late great Edward O'Grady, Joe Murphy and Thomond O'Mara to name a few. He started training Point-to-Point horses himself until the 2008 crash brought that chapter to a close.

In the interim years, he consistently sold all disciplines of horses, cobs and ponies. This is where Irish Horse Sales was born and he slowly started to gain notoriety in the leisure horse industry both nationally and internationally, becoming one of the best known sources of Irish leisure horses in Ireland. Never being without some kind of thoroughbred in his yard, success in the half bred game, provided the key to unlock his resurgence into the thoroughbred world in 2016, when he started to purchase Breeze-up prospects, marrying his greatest skill of breaking and producing with the elite athlete of the thoroughbred. From there, he slowly built up his stable of breeze-up horses by both number and quality.
Today, his focus is on breeze-ups and thoroughbreds, but it would be a lie to say a flashy cob or athletic hunter don't find themselves with a stable in his yard, he will never turn down a client set on finding a top level Irish leisure horse!
Now the stables are full, the future ambition is to keep building on the quality and pedigree of horse he produces every year.
